RMN (Réunion des Musées Nationaux)
The Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN) was established in 1895 to collect and manage funds for the acquisition of works of art for the French national collections. At its outset, the RMN incorporated just four national institutions: the Louvre, the palace of Versailles, the Musée du Luxembourg and the palace of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Today, the RMN works with 34 institutions throughout France. Since 1990, the RMN has operated as an EPIC (a national public institution with a degree of operational, commercial and financial autonomy), under the remit of the Ministry of Culture and Communication (the Direction des Musées de France). Together with the CNAP, the RMN is a co-producer of the MONUMENTA series, responsible for the management of the exhibition space, public services and amenities, and technical works at the Grand Palais.
